The relaxed community of Del Mar is situated on the northern coast of San Diego County, South of Solana Beach.  It is popularly known for the horse races that are hosted on the Del Mar racetrack every summer. The San Diego County Fair is also held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds each summer, bringing in thousands of San Diego residents.  In addition to the beautiful beaches, residents can access popular hiking trails at Torrey Pines State Reserve.  Del Mar is served by the Del Mar Union School District, which includes eight K-8 schools. High school education is provided by the San Dieguito Union High School District.
